4603 James Madison Hwy, Haymarket

On August 12, 2025, a group of volunteers from Google Data Centers in Prince William County spent several hours refreshing the James Long Park Gro Preschool Adventure Trail. They painted, updated the landscaping materials, moved many items and simply rolled their sleeves up and got dirty helping with this trail.

The Gro Preschool at James S. Long Regional Park in Haymarket is a A Natural Educational Space. The state-licensed nature preschool provides a supportive, safe learning experience to encourage discovery, question asking and exploring. Using both indoor and outdoor classrooms, the nature preschool is filled with sensory experiences, natural objects, artifacts, trail activities and art materials. The curriculum is enhanced by the nature experience, but is also geared to developing cognitive growth, motor skills and problem solving through hands on learning.

As Chair of the Parks Foundation, I toured several parks on Sep 13, 2025 with members of the PWC Parks Commission and Trails & Blueways Council. Most exciting for me was seeing the site at the Hellwig Complex for a new, fully accessible playground. The Foundation, with your help, will fund the site prep! The equipment is being donated. AND…we will call on VOLUNTEERS to help build it in 2026. Please DONATE! We appreciate your donations!!!

It was an exciting day at Rollins Ford Park in Nokesville as more than 200 people gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the long-awaited pump track at the area park. Prince William County leaders, including County Executive Christopher Shorter, Board of County Supervisors Chair Deshundra Jefferson, and Brentsville District Supervisor Tom Gordy, were all in attendance, along with a large crowd of bikers and their families including professional BMX racer and current U23 National Champion Cutter Williams.
