Fully Accessible Playground Site Prep
We are preparing for a fully accessible playground at Hellwig Park, located next to the Miracle Field. This will be our second Community-Build playground, designed so that children of all abilities can play together. While the project is likely to move forward, it is still pending approval at several levels before it officially launches.
The playground equipment and professional installation will be covered by a playground company and a potential funder. Our Foundation’s role will be to raise funds for the necessary site preparation, including grading, a concrete base and borders, drainage, and fencing—estimated to cost between $80,000 and $100,000. We’ll also seek Gifts in Kind to help reduce expenses.
There will be opportunities for volunteers to get involved, and we aim to host a Community Build Day in spring 2026. More details will be shared as the project progresses.
